| N. ventricosa red variety | N. ventricosa yellow variety |
| Although a very common plant, N. ventricosa can be exceptionally beautiful. The red variety shown is our favorite, although there is a white variety with a pink peristome which is nearly its equal. This species is quite easy, and is a good plant for beginners, although it may not pitcher if overnight temperatures do not drop down to about 15 C. Lower pitchers are brightly colored, but as the vine grows, pitchers produced further up are paler. |
