Compost:
Pure
living sphagnum moss.
Watering: Water daily. Cultivation Difficulty: Moderate (2); needs nocturnal cooling and frequent watering. Propagation: No experience. Distribution: Borneo, specifically G. Mulu, G. Murud, and Bukit Batu Lawi.1 Ecology: Ridge-top vegetation in mossy forest; 1900-2400 m.1 |
| N. muluensis is a compact plant, and is suitable for terraria if one can cool it sufficiently at night. It is relatively slow growing, but produces pitchers easily enough, provided that one uses pure living spagnum for its compost. We have tried other composting material, but this species seems only to pitcher when growing in sphagnum moss. |
