| N. maxima lower pitcher |
| This species is highly variable, but the more attactive varieties are as beautiful as any Nepenthes. Shown is a picture of our favorite clone, displaying the classic coloration and peristome of this species, including the disinctive glandular boss apparent at the proximal end of the operculum, and the elongated 'nib' located distally. Some varieties of this plant will do well in both lowland and highland conditions, but it is wise to experiment carefully since such tolerance is not universal. Overall, this is a very easy and rewarding species to grow. Cuttings are easy to strike. |
