N. gracilis lower pitcher Compost: Typical.

Watering: Typical.

Cultivation Difficulty:  Easy (1); good beginner plant, but some clones only pitcher with very high humidity.

Propagation: Cuttings are very easy to root; may even be rooted by placing in water.

Distribution:  Borneo, Peninsular Malaysia, Singapore, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and Thailand.1

Ecology:  Open, wet areas on soil of any type; 0-750 m.1

N. gracilis lower pitcher
A very easy grower and an excellent terrarium candidate, N. gracilis is also very common.  It thrives even in intermediate conditions, and is easily propagated.   Best of all, it is available in a number of different colors, including the red variety shown, which is our favorite.
