Closely related to N. lowii, N. ephippiata is still fairly rare in cultivation.  It grows at a rate similar to N. lowii, but may be a bit slower.  After nearly two and a half years, our plants are no more than 25 cm in diameter.  It appears that little is known about this species, and few people have seen it in the wild.  This plant seems to respond well to feeding with insects.
